Littelfuse Environmental Standard
What and why
Littelfuse, Inc. has implemented a new environmental standard worldwide to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and customer specifications, and to reduce the overall impact to the environment.
This standard identifies substances that are restricted or controlled in the raw materials or finished products supplied to Littelfuse, Inc. This encompasses all products currently being sold or distributed with the Littelfuse logo on them or whose design and production are subcontracted to third parties.
How and when
Littelfuse requires the "Certificate of Restricted and Reportable Materials" form to be completed for each part or part family supplied to Littelfuse. One part number may be tested and chosen to cover this requirement for a part family if the difference between parts is dimensional or cosmetic and the chemical composition or make-up for all part numbers in family is identical.
All Littelfuse Purchase Orders will reference this requirement, and approval to ship (or acceptance of product at Littelfuse) is contingent upon review of the completed "Certificate of Restricted and Reportable Materials." The certificate remains valid as long as the levels of controlled substances do not change from those originally reported. Any time there is a change in the level of any controlled substances, the certificate should be resubmitted.
Upon request, suppliers are expected to support Littelfuse in compiling information needed to complete an International Material Data Sheet.
