Global Supply Base Vision and StrategyLittelfuse Strategy
Our Strategy
Our global supply base strategy is founded upon the belief that we can maximize customer satisfaction and business growth through the creation of partnerships and alliances that link us with key suppliers from the point of design through production.
This strategy includes four key elements:
1. Pre-qualification of Suppliers
We pre-qualify all new suppliers. First, prospective suppliers complete the Littelfuse Supplier Self Survey. This survey is reviewed by our audit team and is used to plan the on-site audit. Upon successful completion of the audit, approved suppliers are added to the Littelfuse supplier list.
Existing, qualified suppliers that we identify as having potential to advance to a partner or alliance relationship will undergo a comprehensive audit to ensure that their quality practices are aligned with our global supply base strategy.
2. Design Integration
Our goal is to integrate key suppliers (those with potential to develop a partner or alliance relationship) into the design process as early as possible. This means working closely together, leveraging our joint expertise to develop solutions that best meet the customers' needs and provide growth opportunities for both the supplier and Littelfuse. The extent to which the supplier is integrated into the process depends upon the supplier-Littelfuse relationship, as previously described.
3. Continuous Improvement
Continuous improvement is fundamental to our business. We expect our suppliers to manage their quality systems to the QS9000/TS16949/ISO9000 standards that guide Littelfuse's quality efforts, and to demonstrate continuous improvement in areas that benefit the customer: quality, price and service. This is required of all our suppliers.
4. Accountability
We hold our suppliers accountable for meeting the expectations documented in this manual. The use of measurements, regular feedback and rewards helps us ensure that suppliers fulfill these requirements. These measurements also help us identify poor performers and resolve issues in a timely manner.
The expectations and specific requirements our suppliers must meet are described in the next section: Expectations.
